A living will is a document which sets forth your wishes regarding your end-of-life health care. A living will exists as a written proof of your desires regarding such issues as withholding life support, and can be used as evidence of your wishes if you cannot speak for yourself. If there is any doubt that your health care proxy’s decision is not in accordance with your wishes, the living will would come into play. There are heavy considerations when deciding whether to sign a living will, so best to speak with your health care provider, and your attorney, prior to signing a living will.
